Breaking Up Safely

Breaking up is never easy, especially for teens navigating their first relationships. This activity teaches students how to recognize warning signs of unhealthy dynamics and how to leave a relationship safely and responsibly. Using resources from One Love, students explore key signs it may be time to break up, then learn and apply six safety steps for protecting themselves during a breakup. They finish by creating a safety-focused infographic that communicates what they’ve learned in a clear, helpful format. Includes editable slides, a student reference guide, and Canva templates for easy design.
