Factors In Addiction
This two-part activity helps students understand the complexity of addiction by exploring the many factors that contribute to it. First, students analyze five case studies in pairs, identifying patterns across risk factors like trauma, early exposure, and lack of support. Then, they create a fictional story of addiction, incorporating at least two contributing factors and showing how those experiences shape a person’s life. Designed to build empathy and insight, this activity encourages students to look beyond the addiction itself and consider the circumstances behind it. Includes editable presentation slides, case study worksheets, and a book cover design template.
