Roommates 101

In this project-based activity, students explore the realities of shared living through guided research and a creative brochure assignment. After learning the pros and cons of having roommates, students research practical strategies for resolving conflict, communicating effectively, and maintaining shared spaces. They then design a tri-fold brochure in Canva titled “How to Be a Good Roommate,” applying what they've learned to real-world situations. Includes editable slides, student reference guide, and digital templates. A strong fit for Counseling & Mental Health I, Human Services, Life Skills, or Family & Consumer Sciences courses focused on building interpersonal and durable life skills.

This download includes:

•Editable Slides: Fully customizable
• Engaging Content: Designed for active participation
• Printable Worksheet: Ready-to-use handouts
• Template for Student Activity: Easy implementation
